The Government of Canada is taking immediate, significant and decisive action to support Canadians and employers facing hardship as a result of the global COVID-19 outbreak.

Today, Finance Minister Bill Morneau provided further details on the eligibility criteria for businesses to access the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS). These details will ensure that the proposed CEWS meets the government’s objective to support the employers that are hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and protect the jobs Canadians depend on during these difficult times.

Canada's bank for entrepreneurs, BDC, and Export Development Canada (EDC) have partnered to publish research exploring the barriers women entrepreneurs face when exporting. The research will be published in collaboration with the Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub, a Government of Canada initiative to serve as a one-stop source of knowledge, data and best practices for women entrepreneurs.

Skills Gap | Companies Are Willing to Train Up

In new research from global staffing firm Robert Half, HR managers in Canada said 45% of resumes they receive, on average, are from candidates who don't meet job requirements. In a separate survey of Canadian workers, 76% admitted they would submit for a role when they don't match all the qualifications.
